OUR STORY

St George's Concert Series is a boutique collection of performances created under the artistic direction of Dr Joseph Nolan, who is passionate about bringing quality classical music to the people of Perth.

The series presents 3-5 meticulously crafted concerts each year, featuring WA's most talented musicians and international guests. Each season brings a mix of monumental performances in Perth Concert Hall and more intimate evenings under the soaring arches of St George's Cathedral.

The series is made possible by the generosity of Perth philanthropists and donations via the St George's Cathedral Foundation for the Arts.

“The Cathedral Consort sang with an almost otherworldly precision and explosive power. . . . Joseph Nolan has a supreme talent for recognizing where in a piece of music the genius resides, and how to communicate that to an audience in the most direct and uncompromising fashion. More of a musician you cannot ask.”

“One of the most dynamic and musically engaging ‘Messiah’s that I've had the pleasure of hearing. Joseph Nolan has transformed the St George’s Cathedral Consort into an outstanding ensemble, with excellent technical control. Their clear articulation in all the fast passages and a beautifully blended sound brought considerable intensity and dramatic impact to the work’s more powerful moments. A genuinely moving and uplifting performance.”
