2019 Season Launch – Music that Transcends Time

Timeless classical music is brought to you by the 2019 St George’s Concert Series. Bach’s St Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio conducted by Dr Joseph Nolan, Moonlight in the Cathedral with Mark Coughlan, and the Sir Francis Burt Memorial Concert by Ben Sheen. Four exquisite concerts, performed to perfection, will set your spirit soaring.

In April and December, Artistic Director Joseph Nolan conducts music that transcends time – Bach’s St Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio in Perth Concert Hall, featuring the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and WA’s most sought-after singers.

In May and August, two special guest performances bring spine-tingling musicianship to St George’s Cathedral. Pianist Mark Coughlan officially launches the hand-crafted Fazioli piano, with pieces that show off its luxuriant sound. Extraordinary young Concert Organist Ben Sheen, of St Thomas Fifth Avenue New York, will raise your spirit to the arches in the Sir Francis Burt Memorial Concert.

The 2019 St George’s Concert Series is proudly presented by the St George’s Cathedral Foundation for the Arts. Heartfelt thanks go to underwriting sponsors Julian and Alexandra Burt, and all supporters, for helping to make these concerts possible.
