It takes artisans and technicians 2 years to produce 1 Fazioli piano – hand-crafted in Italy with obsessive attention to detail. In 2018 concert pianist Mark Coughlan travelled to Venice, on behalf of the St George’s Cathedral Foundation for the Arts, to choose the instrument best suited to the Cathedral acoustic. After giving the piano a few months to acclimatise, Moonlight in the Cathedral marks its official debut. Mark will demonstrate the extraordinary range and majestic tone of the Fazioli, performing pieces filled with colour, lyricism and drama.
The piano was generously gifted to St George’s Cathedral by Zenith Music and Snadens Pianos in celebration of Zenith’s 50th anniversary. Donations were also gratefully received from Sam and Leanne Walsh, and a bequest from Jenny Wright.
